Today is the first day of voting for the Inspirational RONE nominees week six, of which my book The Nun and the Narc is one. Voting for this category, and the Science Fiction category where my friend Victoria Pinder also is a nominee, started this morning and goes through Sunday April 20th. In case you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m about to do some shameless self promo and ask for your help.
InD’tale magazine, creators of the RONE awards, have developed a three round system of elimination that covers every facet – highly reviewed, loved by fans, and critiqued by qualified judges. Books receiving the high review rating of a 4 star or better (The Nun and the Narc received a 5 star rating) continue to the second, public voting phase for the 2014 RONE Awards. In this phase the readers will be narrowing down the contestants to 4 – 6 finalists in each genre by choosing the books they love best. Because The Nun and the Narc and my friend’s book Zoastra Affair received a 4 star or better, we have advanced to the second round—the public voting. The books with the most public votes in their genres will advance to the next round where they will be read and judged by a group of professionals in the industry to determine the very best in indie and small published books of 2013. The winners of that round will then be awarded the prestigious RONE award, itself, at the formal ceremonies, July 11th, at the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As it’s my first novel, and Victoria’s as well, we’d appreciate you helping us on this journey with your vote. As I mentioned before, voting starts today Monday April 14 and closes on Sunday April 20th, so there is only this week to help. Here’s how you can vote.
1. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with this message:
Dear Ana Smith, I vote for The Nun and the Narc by Catherine Castle in the week 6 round of Best Inspirational.
Then send a second email to email@example.com for my friend with this message:
Dear Ana Smith, I vote for The Zoastra Affair by Victoria Pinder in the Week 6 round of Best Science Fiction.

To tell you the truth, I feel a bit awkward trolling for votes. Like one of the Dancing With the Stars, celebrities holding the phone hand sign to my ear saying “call and vote” or the or American Idol contestants holding up their call number after they’ve finished singing, authors need their reading public to give them support. I hope you’ll join in the voting fun and give me and Victoria a boost toward winning the RONE awards.
